1. What is your writing process like?

My writing process varies depending on the circumstances.  Sometimes I write on a computer.  A lot of times I write longhand as the thoughts fueled by my imagination seem to flow more organically as I pen the story.  Writing requires steps, but sometimes these steps can change order, be omitted or expanded upon. This is the natural flow of a creative mind. I have written previously about the writing pricess that for me it is inconsistent as I take certain steps and repeat them while at other times I omit others. The most consistent point is to write with freedom of fluidity, allowing your creativity to be defined by your imagination.

2. Have you ever had writer's block?

Sure. It happens when everyday life catches up to you. Sometimes I experience writer's block when I begsn a section or chapter thinking it was to follow a specific diection or event. When I backtrack, I endeavour to figure out where was the last subplot and allow for my mind to recalibrate aturally.  To sometimes alleviate writer's block, when available, I work on other creative things. You alleviate the innediate stressor but let yourself remain in 'creative mode'.

3. Do you want each book to stand on its own, or are you trying to build a body of work with connections between each book?

I began my my fiction writing career with one standaloe, then a series, then going back and forth, including betweeen genres.  So far I have three series, two sci-fi/fantasy series and one mystery/detective series. Though within a series the novels interrelate, the process of writing each book. I consider a singular endeavour as you want each interwoven story to ve unique enough to stand on its own but creative enough wherein other characters can still validly play their role on a different platform.

4.  Have you ever been surprised by a scene or chapter you wrote?

Yes. In one of mystery novels I was writing a chapter that appeared to be consistent but not too exciting. I decided to add some other seemingly criminas as part of the mystery related to a previous victim from decades earlier. It became easier as I origreses through the dialogue.  I was pleasantly surprised.

5.  What was your hardest scene to write?

The hardest scene I have everwritten was in The Speakeasy Murders when Detective Williams was nearly raoed by a black man and with a West African as the lookout at the door. it was difficult due to the graphic nature of the action, though she as able to eacape highly unscathed.  The actual assailants were easier to describe as who they were the likely suspects in the underground 1920s.

6.  How many hours a day do you write?

It varies. I really do not jeep track. I write when I can. I have heard of some people using time blocking to accomplish tasks, but I think I would find this as placing yourself under too much pressure to achieve a specific result.  it is better to not coerce the creative mind.

7.  How long on average does it take you to write a book?

This varies as well.  I have heard some authirs can write a book within a month. I have been able to do this as well. Yet,  om other occassims, when I have began other books, especially fantasy/sci-fi novels, for months thereafter, I will write added content to the previous novels months later.  i have erutten like this primarily for my recent books, Th Alchemic Kongdoms Series™

8. As a writer, what would you choose as your mascot/avatar/spirit animal?

This js a difficult question.  I have created creatures of fantasy. Even Yamaria has had a winged creature, Pheneziah that was a guardian guide.  So maybe that is the best answer. You do not choose your guardian/guide. Your guardian/guide. is assigned. to you.
